It was an electrifying week as the 7Twenty team made waves at Fiber Connect 2024 in Nashville, Tennessee! As the ultimate gathering for the fiber optic industry, Fiber Connect brought together the biggest names, boldest innovators, and key investors from across the globe to explore new frontiers in the fiber world. Held in the iconic hometown of country music, the event had the perfect backdrop for high-energy networking and future-focused collaboration.

Fiber Connect is the world’s largest broadband event, and this year’s theme, “Accelerating Our Fiber Future,” couldn’t align better with 7Twenty and PIMMS’ ambitious US growth strategy. “The US is experiencing unprecedented levels of federal and state funding for fiber,” highlighted Evann Freeman, Vice President of Government & Community Relations at EPB and Conference Committee Chair for the Fiber Broadband Association. “By 2030, fiber will revolutionize how our country connects.”

This year’s conference was designed to have something for everyone—whether you’re a tech-savvy operator, a visionary vendor, or a strategic policymaker. From insightful sessions to hands-on demos, Fiber Connect delivered an immersive experience for both industry rookies and seasoned CEOs. Richard Williams, Conference Program Director and President of Connect2 Communications, summed it up perfectly: “We’re at a pivot point in the fiber industry, and being part of that transformation is a rare opportunity.”

For the 7Twenty team, the event was packed with learning, connecting, and celebrating successes. A highlight was attending sessions led by Ripple Fiber CEO Greg Wilson, where key trends shaping the US fiber optic market were discussed. Seeing fellow South Africans like Wilson thrive in the competitive US landscape was a proud moment for the team. More exciting is that soon our products will be a common sight on homes throughout North and South Carolina!

The 7Twenty crew—Steve, Veronique, Mark, and Dylan—got straight down to business, meeting with customers, suppliers, and strategic partners from across the country. US clients were impressed by 7Twenty’s ability to design, test, and manufacture fiber optic products with a rare combination of speed, innovation, and cost-efficiency. In a fast-evolving market, these qualities set 7Twenty apart as a force to be reckoned with.

Compact, smart, and super-efficient, our innovative enclosure generated buzz and left many amazed by how much functionality can be packed into such a neat design.

As PIMMS Group and 7Twenty continue to blaze their trail across the US, our 7Twenty last-mile fiber deployment solutions are speeding up projects and dramatically cutting costs by reducing the high material and labor expenses typical in the US market. And of course, it wasn’t all work and no play! When the sessions wrapped up, the team swapped their business shoes for hats, and Stetsons, soaking in the vibrant energy of Nashville’s nightlife, complete with country tunes and Tennessee green tea.
